Dr Shurman attended Temple University School of Medicine followed by Dermatology training at Thomas Jefferson University both in Philadelphia. He then obtained a fully accredited fellowship in both and Mohs Micrographic Surgery and procedural Dermatology at the Dermatologic Surgery Center.


The focus of his practice is the treatment of Cutaneous Neoplasms using the Mohs Micrographic technique. Dr Shurman’s primary interest is in the area of facial reconstructive surgery, managing the repair of complex cutaneous defects. Dr. Shurman is board certified in Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and his research interests include medical genetics, antibiotics in dermatologic surgery, and wound healing. He has published many peer reviewed articles on these topics and wishes to continue to contribute to the advancement of his specialty.
